Store Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the store, including training/developing effective store associates to achieve desired sales and profitability results. Promote, teach, coach and model our leadership behaviors with the goal of creating a successful culture and achieving results through customer scores. Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Lead store teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising/operations initiatives.
  • Conduct routine and consistent leadership meetings/huddles to maintaining a highly engaged workforce.
  • Conduct routine and consistent reviews of sales/gallons/Rx count, shrink/gross margin, labor and cash over and short.
  • Set a positive example for effective performance, initiative and service; promote continuous training for all associates.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of store facilities and equipment.
  • Communicates issues, problems and/or concerns to senior leadership.
  • Operate display equipment and materials according to company guidelines.
  • Perform daily store walks with a focus on preparation for, execution of and recovery from prime time selling.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Understand and react to the competitive landscape within the store and district.
  • Implement a customer service program that is favorable to the store/company image and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Create customer goodwill by maintaining desirable shopping conditions, providing excellent service and handling customer issues/complaints according to company policy.
  • Communicate all necessary information to area managers, team leads and team members and enable them to effectively carry out their duties.
  • Promote and support strong relationships with local community organizations that the store serves.
  • Monitor customer service as performed by all area managers, team leads and team members.
  • Perform area manager, team lead and team member duties as needed.
  • Travel to perform daily store walks and support relationships with community organizations.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 2 years of center store area assistant manager or food service area assistant manager experience or equivalent work experience
  • Successful completion of the store manager training program
  • Strong proven financial acumen of achieving results through analyzing company reports
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong customer service, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead others through coaching and development
  • Successfully complete and maintain an approved Food Safety Certification

Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field
  • Previous experience working with OSHA and health department/regulatory agencies
