Assistant Restaurant Manager - Anderson, OH

Position Summary

Assist in the restaurants daily operations to ensure guests receive excellent service and delicious meals. Liaison between front of the house and back of the house to improve overall restaurant operations. Essential Job Functions

  • Travel to attend training and assist other restaurants
  • Ensure that daily restaurant paperwork is completed accurately and timely
  • Comply with alcoholic beverage commission laws/regulations
  • Comply with federal, state, local and company food safety guidelines, food handling guidelines and rules governing sanitation and the cleanliness/maintenance of kitchen/dining room areas
  • Support a collaborative front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house team and provide ongoing coaching and training to ensure excellent guest service, food quality and consistency
  • Empower and inspire team members while upholding company culture and restaurant brand ideals
  • Assist the general manager with attracting and retaining quality, hospitality-oriented team members
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
  • Create an environment focused on hospitality to ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience that results in repeat visits and maximizes cover count
  • Ensure seamless execution of front-of-the-house operations by scheduling associates appropriately and overseeing operational flow of guest volume
  • Support sales and profit goals by operating within cost of goods and labor productivity guidelines while maintaining great customer service
  • Assist with meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Provide daily management of staff, including hiring, retention, scheduling, training, coaching, discipline, associate relations, performance management and policy administration
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a food service assistant manager position or equivalent experience
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Proficient point-of-sale knowledge
  • General understanding of profit and loss, financials, labor, budget, inventory, food cost and ordering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in mixology with knowledge of craft beer and wine
  • Ability to multitask without compromising guest experience
  • Excellent basic mathematical skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels and associates
  • Ability to complete and pass food safety training within required timeframes
  • Ability to complete and pass alcohol certification within required timeframes
  • Ability to work in a standing position for an entire shift
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, push and lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 4+ years front-of-the-house operations experience
