Position Summary

Preset expo station for service with required plates, condiments, sauces, syrups, utensils, to go supplies, bags, etc. Understand plate set up and what garnishes, sauces or accompaniments are served with each plate. Serve as the go-between relaying all communication from front of the house (FOH) and back of the house (BOH). Essential Job Functions

  • Sanitize all work surfaces and touch points before replenishing workstation with supplies or food
  • Verify expo station is set up and has proper items in place
  • Make sure orders are being prepared in the correct priority and in a timely manner
  • Confirm all dine in orders are prepared to guest's specifications
  • Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
  • Organize plated dishes by seat and table number for delivery to table
  • Transfer important information between the kitchen and the service staff (e.g., when a customer has a request)
  • Ability to "call" to the kitchen staff for missing plates or food items
  • Bag and ensure entire to go orders are correct and accounted for with every order
  • Understand steps of service with the capability to ask for hands meant for efficient table service
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, ensuring uniform and personal appearance are presentable and reflective of the company brand
  • Communicate any safety or guest concerns to manager as appropriate
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, managers and guests
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow associates to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Attend scheduled associate meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Comply with federal, state, local and company food safety guidelines, food handling guidelines and rules governing sanitation and the cleanliness/maintenance of kitchen/dining room areas
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience in a similar role
  • Any demonstrated experience completing duties in a fast-paced kitchen while performing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team and guests
  • Ability to work in a standing position for an entire shift and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster cooperation and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 1 year or more of experience in a similar role
  • Any experience as a server or line cook
