Garage Service Team Member

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining and fueling commercial trucks. The company also requires that all employees perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Drive the commercial truck back to the site in the event of a road call
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and make adjustments using hand tools
  • Maintain ability to work different shifts, weekends and overtime as needed
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Commercial Driver's License
  • Any familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 3+ years of experience in diesel mechanics
  • High School Diploma or GED
  •
