Position Summary

Perform functions to dispense prescription medications and manage the pharmacy associates and operations at an assigned locale while working within the limits of standard or accepted practice. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide technical, policy and regulatory guidance to pharmacists, technicians and others to ensure all meds are accurately dispensed, recorded, labeled and stored for pick up or delivery and that all reimbursements for meds are accurately processed
  • Consult with patients on safe use and storage of medications, relevant health factors and respond to inquiries; consult with prescribers as needed
  • Maintain effective communication with prescribers and patients to foster enduring business relationships and build customer loyalty by providing superior accuracy, safety and security
  • Report on or address business matters to leadership including customer satisfaction, inventory levels, associate relations, resource allocation, facilities or regulatory and compliance issues and provide feedback to build the business
  • Maintain relationships with inside and outside sales associates to support growth in referrals and customer base
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, meetings and workgroups to ensure pharmacy operations are in full compliance with procedural, policy and regulatory requirements and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and recording of medications and supplies; ensure cleanliness of storage areas and perform or oversee inventory audit
  • Interview, select, hire, train and assign associates; evaluate performance and provide direction, mentoring, coaching and necessary training to associates
  • Support development and implementation of department policies and procedures as needed; ensure associates understand and meet all requirements
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements
  • Participate in a variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Active and in good standing Pharmacist License
  • 4+ years of experience as a practicing pharmacist with supervisory experience
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to work effectively in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong team building skills; able to influence, lead, teach, train, counsel and coach to accomplish organization goals
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of pharmacy operations and use critical thinking and full understanding of relevant impacts of decision making
  • Ability to model high-class customer service resulting in improved customer satisfaction and enduring business relationships with patients, prescribers and associates
  • Highly effective communicator; superior listening, understanding, speaking, writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities with critical focus on accuracy and safety
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy
  • Any specialty pharmacy experience
  •
