Director, Store/Associate Technology Core Services

Position Summary

Lead and direct a technology organization that is focused on building technology solutions to enable store associates to work smarter and more efficiently. Using a product led approach and modern DevOps strategies, deliver innovative solutions with high availability across our stores. Drive best practices in reliability engineering and support in leading the core data, services, Android, and metrics/reporting teams. Essential Job Functions

  • Drive the strategy and technology solutions in support of Store and Associate Technology throughout the enterprise to satisfy a customer experience of anything, anytime, anywhere while delivering a more simplified associate experience
  • Drive decision making on technology solutions for associate technology in core data, services, Android, reliability engineering, and metrics/reporting
  • Lead teams to deliver innovative technology solutions using agile best practices and design standards in a speed that matters that supports enterprise scale
  • Innovate, develop, and drive strategic initiatives including In Stock, Cost to Serve, Fresh or other key associate initiatives working closely with product management, design, Retail Operations and other business units
  • Provide leadership to ensure clarity between ongoing projects and the strategic objectives of the company
  • Collaborate with other leaders, advisors, and partners in the formulation and execution of the technology strategies in support of the company's overall business plan
  • Lead strong business acumen and its application to drive business solutions
  • Communicate with associates and senior management on the vision, strategy and plans for the technology assigned group
  • Evaluate, recruit, motivate and mentor a growing world-class technology team
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency of the department and across the broader organization
  • Plan, execute and manage initiatives and resources to meet and where possible be favorable to our expense and capital budgets
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years successful experience as a software technology manager of large agile teams and complex multi-stakeholder projects
  • Any experience with modern DevOps and reliability principles and practices, software engineering for native applications, and cloud operations
  • Any experience in business case development, product scoping and project planning with development teams
  • Any experience delivering innovative results in previous roles and have strong knowledge of industry trends and industry competition
  • Any strong performance management experience of large work groups
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of technology to support Omni channel experiences
  • Understanding of service-oriented architecture/cloud
  • Demonstrated capability to build, mentor and maintain an inclusive team-based environment
  • Proven ability to think and contribute at the strategic level
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service-oriented and event driven architecture solutions
