The Training Developer will be responsible for designing and developing quality learning management system content for internal technology roles and external business roles. This role will collaborate with instructional designers, graphic designers, subject matter experts and other team members to construct engaging learning experiences in support of a high performing organization. This role should have experience working in the constructs of project management, Agile environments and understand the software development life cycle roles required to deliver technology solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to incorporate training design and best practices into a cohesive learning experience for our business technology associates. Highlights of the Essential Job Functions: • Developing and compiling audio and visual assets to create training based on design documents and storyboards • Developing high-quality interactive eLearning modules in Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline ensuring performance on desktop and mobile devices • Creating quizzes, mini-games, and other meaningful interactions using Javascript to support Web-based training modules in order to increase knowledge retention • Utilizing HTML5, Javascript, CSS, &/or HTML in the creation of eLearning • Maintaining and improving development quality through self and peer reviews • Ensuring deliverables are on time, effective, and engaging

 

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the design and instructional integrity of technology training programs. This position collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and development teams to create effective learning solutions designed to meet business needs and produce measurable results. This position designs/develops learning solutions that adhere to adult learning principles and incorporates interactive materials for a variety of delivery systems. Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and develop interactive learning solutions that drive measurable business results.
  • Ensure solutions are instructionally sound and adhere to quality standards
  • Leads the continued development of training standards and practices
  • Effectively manage projects by preparing and utilizing training and project plans.
  • Perform analysis to determine project scope and best training methodology to meet business needs.
  • Work closely with project team members to ensure that courses meet the learning objectives and goals
  • Provide regular communication to project teams, business owners and stakeholders.
  • Lead the identification of evaluation methods and tools to measure results.
  • Assists with the development of training estimates for technology projects. Functions as the initial point of contact for new initiatives.
  • Interacts with the Organizational Change Management team and implements the OCM philosophy to ensure integration of methodologies and practices
  • Mentors and coaches junior training specialist team members to ensure instructionally sound solution delivery and also the development and achievement of professional development goals.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of Instructional Design experience
  • Proven understanding of adult learning theory
  • Understands the purpose and benefit of each phase of the instructional design process including risks of model not being followed
  • Self-directed with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient technical writing skills
  • Able to recognize objectively what is happening in or across situations
  • Proficient in Organizational Change Management theory and application
  • Proficient in computer operation including Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to travel independently

Desired Previous Job Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Instructional Design or Graphic Arts
  • Strong understanding of training development tools including but not limited to Flash, HTML, and ActionScript
  • Proven experience developing Training Solutions utilizing a variety of methods
  • Strong understanding of analysis methodologies
  • Project management experience
  • Team Management experience
