Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating and leading all functional areas of Portfolio Operations for a single portfolio / pillar within a product led organization, including, but not limited to, capital allocation, capital budget governance, operating budget governance, capacity management, vendor performance governance and contracts management. Essential Job Functions
Manage the operational functions for a single portfolio, under the general direction of a senior advanced portfolio ops managerCoordinate the functional activities across budgets, contracts and resourcesProvide guidance for how to manage the portfolio operations for a given portfolioGain a good knowledge of how the operations functions interact and how they impact each otherLead and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise or problems that need to be solvedOperate within the Product framework and OKR contextFunction as the first point of contact as it relates to the portfolio being managedSeek and implement improvements in the way tasks are executedCollaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues as regards to the contracts (labor and non-labor)Participate in audits and other functionally related activitiesEnsure processes and organizational alignment of portfolio management are achieved and enforced; serve as advisor/mentor to the entire PPMO regarding processes, tools and continuous improvement; work with creativity and latitude with little guidance or supervisionOwn the accountability of producing period-based reports that highlights the health of the portfolio being managed and share that across the portfolio leadershipServe as a mentor to other team members and work with Portfolio Ops manager to help cross train resources in multiple functional areasDevelop and influence the culture of continuous improvement of delivery methodologies and effectively lead large scale organizational change towards solving complex problemsSet target deadlines and clear predictability, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of tasksWork under the direction of the immediate manager to identify appropriate resources needs, assign individual responsibilities, and develop schedule to ensure timely completion of deliveryProvide leadership for team members and stakeholders and apply conflict resolution skills to resolve any portfolio issuesCoordinate contract management activities with leaders across the organization as needed.Ensure adherence to quality, compliance and security standardsMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationMinimum Position Qualifications
6+ years of experience in managing any functional area of a portfolioProven problem solving and organizational skillsProven track record of delivering objectives on time and within budgetKnowledge and practical experience of the Lean methodology, principles and toolsDemonstrated ability in team motivation and delegationExcellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organizationDesired Previous Experience/Education
6+ years of experience serving in portfolio position, managing financial aspects for programs, projects and portfolio Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experienceEducation Level: None
