Customer Experience Product Director eCommerce

Position Summary

Develop the end to end, or horizontal, experience strategy in partnership with other leaders within the Customer Experience Pillar. Develop and manage a large team of Principal Product Managers, Sr. Product Managers and Product Managers responsible for durable and strategic focus areas within the experience that are a point of differentiation for Kroger. Identify customer problems and business opportunities that will drive most value for the organization. Guide and set objectives and key results (OKRs), and ensure that the OKRs are achieved. Success looks like the ability to successfully guide, inspire, delegate and deliver results. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, manage and optimize the horizontal experience strategy and associated business plans
  • Guide multiple focus areas to align consistency/compliance to strategy, ensuring that the appropriate balance of team/pod freedom
  • Partner with domain leaders to ensure domain product pods execute according to Kroger horizontal strategies and priorities
  • Represent KTD Product Management in future initiatives to assess conformity to current strategy, breakdown the work, make high-level prioritizations, and assign to various pods or initiatives, and keep senior leaders informed
  • Partner with business and operational stakeholders and consumer insights to develop product vision, identify capabilities aligned to company strategy and go-to market plans, communicate and create alignment with stakeholders including company officers and senior management
  • Create highly collaborative working environments partnering with Merchandising, Retail Operations, divisions, Marketing, Media Services, 84.51, and KTD partners
  • Model Agile principles to increase speed and frequency of delivery by maintaining and communicating value criteria to collaborate on prioritization for domain backlogs and criteria for Minimum Viable Product
  • Develop the plan and deliver breakthrough experiences to market working with technical and non-technical partners. Measure, improve and continuously deliver to production
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Travel to different work locations to attend meetings

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Management or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of software development or product management experience in a digital business with demonstrated success establishing the strategy and delivering new products and experiences to market
  • Any experience with leading and managing a team with direct and indirect reports
  • Management experience in building high performing product teams
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating and using strategy to solve complex problems
  • Ability to identify metrics and key performance measures and use data to drive decisions which enhance the customer experience
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 7+ years of experience at a retailer with an omnichannel or eCommerce model
  • Experience with iterative product development (Agile)
