Digital Ecommerce, Head of Marketplace

Position Summary:

Oversee the development of the business plan, key objectives and financial model for the Kroger Digital Marketplace. Develop the business strategy, assortment strategy, required partnerships and measurement plan, leveraging market data and customer insights to shape the approach. Work with key stakeholders/partners across the organization to design strategies, concepts and partnerships and drive structured and data-led recommendations to action. Serve as a strategic business leader to enhance the company’s position in the online retail space. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive the overall business planning, design and platform roll-out, working across the matrix and appropriate partnerships
  • Design specific and actionable metrics for sales growth, customer engagement and profitability
  • Partner with the Product Development team to develop a roadmap to seamlessly integrate the Marketplace offering into the Kroger Digital Experience
  • Lead all Marketplace platform partnerships at a strategic level
  • Drive talent acquisition, team building and associate development within the Marketplace team
  • Lead meaningful change throughout the path to purchase through setting guidelines around taxonomy, search and PDP strategies specific to the Marketplace model, leveraging analytics to drive forward change
  • Partner with Marketing and 84.51to drive appropriate customer engagement and personalization strategies specific to the Marketplace business
  • Lead and assist in the integration of Kroger Precision Marketing into the Digital Marketplace business
  • Work with applicable teams to define success metrics, recap and share reporting results with all stakeholders and determine ways to optimize
  • Educate and communicate the digital strategy to business partners, along with supporting the development of training opportunities for new tools or enhancements
  • Seek out and identify consumer, market, industry and global trends for new ways of meeting customer needs and driving engagement via the Kroger Digital Marketplace
  • Seek ways to continually improve team collaboration, workflow and processes

Minimum Position Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years in digital, merchandising, operations, or marketing, with demonstrated understanding of digital channels, product merchandising and customer behavior
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
  • Ability to achieve objectives through others
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to bring resolution under challenging circumstances
