Facility Engineering Fall Co/Op

Position Summary:

Complete a 3, 6, 9 or 12 month program between college semesters or quarters working with managers to gain valuable experience and understanding of the Facility Engineering department and the role they plan in the grocery retail store environment. Role model and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Train with Facility Engineering team members in multiple areas of expertise
  • Assist with the development and completion of assigned projects that will touch most all aspects of the department including the entire process of ordering equipment, reviewing punch lists, and estimating cost of major and minor capital projects
  • Progress to projects of larger scope as internship continues
  • Complete additional internship assignments as required by the division
  • Attend and participate in staff and department meetings
  • Complete cumulative project (summary of internship accomplishments) and present to Executive Team or appropriate Managers
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Currently attending an accredited college or university working toward a 4-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • 18 years of age (if on a construction worksite)
  • Must be accurate with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel as needed to stores within the Cincinnati/ Dayton/ Northern Kentucky area

Desired Previous Experience:

  • Experience working in construction
  • Experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience managing multiple priorities (between school, work, or extra-curricular activities)
  • Involvement in leadership and community activities
  • Work or school experience handling confidential information
