Manager, Digital Content Strategy

Position Summary:

Lead the development of content to support the company’s digital properties aligned with the company’s Customer 1st philosophy and business objectives. Identify content needs based current state analysis, site metrics, consumer insights and stakeholder feedback. Align strategy with digital roadmap with an emphasis on use of content to fuel personalization efforts, e-commerce, recipes and other future initiatives. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop content strategy for email, customer facing websites, microsites, mobile app, push notifications, SMS and social platforms
  • Accountable for creating a customer-first, data-driven content experience within managed digital experiences
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop content plan to support business objectives, and drive customer digital activation and engagement based on enhancements to digital experience, including creation and socialization of content strategy roadmap and editorial calendar
  • Drive content experience innovation for capabilities within managed digital experiences (websites/email/mobile app) and through external content platforms and partners
  • Partner with the Digital Analytics team and Site Experience team to create ongoing content testing strategy (A/B and multivariate) to increase customer engagement and improve performance
  • Use data and insights to inform future strategies while communicating findings to all stakeholders
  • Manage relationship with assigned outside vendors/agencies, as necessary
  • Create and develop digital and social media content guidelines based on industry best practices, internal data, testing, and business cases, and ensure communication throughout the organization to strengthen understanding of digital space
  • Train and develop Digital Content strategist and specialists, encouraging learning and innovation and oversee all deliverables
  • Oversee digital content budget and report forecast and actuals to division partners
  • Champion new ideas to keep pace with rapidly changing digital environment
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Travel to work campuses to attend company meetings

Minimum Position Qualifications: 

  • 7 years relevant experience with 3+ years focused on digital marketing/social media/e-commerce/content strategy
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of information architecture in the online space
  • Strong knowledge of SEO/SEM
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing digital content strategies for large retailer in e-commerce/digital field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build positive business relationships and partnerships
  • Strong project leadership, organizational and time management skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience using strategy to solve complex problems
  • Ability to create metrics and use data to drive decisions which enhance the customer experience

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Understanding of digital marketing production processes along with campaign management experience
  • Experience managing vendor/supplier relationships
  • Experience in contract negotiation
