Position Summary

Develop and deploy the strategy for managing supplier operational performance, direct vendor procurement, and product flow from suppliers for Kroger Ship. Develop best-in-class competitive strategies to drive operational excellence. Assist in the development of eCommerce direct ship vendor plans as inputs into the Total Company merchandise plans, in partnership with eCommerce Merchandising team to accomplish merchandising strategies. Essential Job Functions

  • Liaison between vendor relationships, product and IT departments; analyze Scorecard, Reporting, Analysis & Revision process; identify opportunities for vendor performance improvement and execute improvement plan
  • Manage daily orders, invoicing, and follow through to ensure products reach customers in a timely manner
  • Create merchandise operations flow, build structure and document steps taken to establish a formal process; engage in test orders and integration status; places test purchase orders in QA site and communicate test POs with AX team
  • Manage day to day business operations for eCommerce through quantitative and qualitative analysis; understand EDI, fulfillment systems, BI, Adobe Analytics, and eCommerce D2C logistics
  • Serve as the escalation point for all functional areas in the distribution division working with the vendor to problem solve and mediate through challenges and opportunities they arise; deliver solution-based results
  • Maintain accountability for fulfillment performance; troubleshoot vendor issues ( i.e., on-time delivery, quality issues, errors, late orders, mis-shipments, short-shipments, etc.)
  • Own response/resolution of vendor needs, from tech issues and staffing requirements to operations support and reporting; represent merchants as subject matter expert during system upgrades and roll-outs to SOPs, scripts, software and technology
  • Plan and attend business reviews with vendors and communicate any changes or impacts to inventory position for the channel
  • Establish/maintain ongoing vendor qualification procedure; hold vendors accountable to performance standards of quality, cost and delivery expectations; escalate when appropriate
  • Oversee/ensure vendor and product set up is completed from item set up through go live; manage vendor relationships to ensure excellence in performance and service standards
  • Oversee vendor alignment, shipping compliance and analysis, coordinating integration and execution, and maximizing in-stock position of online SKUs
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in category merchandising, supply chain, managing process/operations, customer communication channels
  • Ability to effectively communicate to stakeholders at all levels of the business; ability to provide eCommerce data, insights, results, and recommendations
  • Ability to resolve conflict, initiate resolution, and deliver results
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and peers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 5+ years of experience in a retail, D2C environment
  • 10+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, digital, supply chain or operations
  • Proven experience in developing long-term relationships and negotiating strategic agreements to ensure cost and quality improvements
  • Bachelor's Degree
