Operational Reporting Manager I

Position Summary

Responsible for architecting, designing and setting the standards for reporting and budgeting analytical systems in Oracle Essbase and Dodeca. Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of data. Serve as the primary Dodeca code designer for operational finance reporting systems databases and process flows. Lead a team of Essbase and Dodeca developers. Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as a business project management lead for related development and testing activities working with related Essbase and Dodeca developers
  • Contribute to the design of database structures and process flows
  • Coordinate cross-department (e.g., KTD) initiatives and facilitates the definition of clear responsibilities and business outcomes
  • Support and/or lead project work (e.g., modernization, business restructuring and acquisitions)
  • Apply data analysis, data modeling, and quality assurance techniques to ensure data integrity in the cubes and reporting
  • Mentor team members in software development principles, patterns, processes and practices
  • Develop programming specifications for architecting and designing reporting within financial reporting systems using best practices and application service functions
  • Develop mastery skills over time on where and how to extract the right data at the right time (e.g., Oracle FRS/ SmartView/ Dodeca/ PowerBI/ Azure focus, etc.)
  • Advise stakeholders on dynamic ad-hoc requests for data to make timely business decisions
  • Lead the requirements identification and data sourcing and data consumption method for Operational Finance and other financial reporting stakeholders throughout the enterprise
  • Provide training to users
  • Liaison with assigned customer groups
  • Establish priorities for enhancements/modifications for our financial reporting systems
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of project management, financial reporting, and/or reporting technologies experience or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a public company, an accounting center or public accounting firm or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to maintain performance under pressure
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Any accounting or audit experience
  • Any experience leading technology enabled and business driven reporting strategies
  • Any retail and manufacturing experience
  • Any experience with Oracle product suite
  • Any hands on experience in MDX and MAXL
  • Any experience as Essbase developer with knowledge of Calc scripts, load rules, and dimension builds
  • Proficiency in Essbase and Dodeca technology, architecture and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of relational and/or OLAP databases
  • Broad knowledge of visualization, reporting, and data management technologies
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of ASO/BSO concepts
  • AIX or UNIX scripting
  • SQL or DB2 developer
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and/or Business Objects
