Position Summary

Manage a team of Product Designers. Drive product design initiatives, customer experience enhancements, and make individual contributions as needed. Has a deep understanding of the customer, and initiates research studies to uncover specific customer problems, insights and opportunities. Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Merchandising and Data Scientists, along with Designers across customer journeys and product teams to shape the product vision. Evangelist of Product Design and ways of working. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead product teams and partner with stakeholders to develop the customer experience strategy and vision. Define customer centric experiences and communicate to company officers and senior management
  • Serve as the advocate for users. Lead or oversee user research activities. Understand when research is needed to uncover insights
  • Clearly define and focus on user problems. Map the customer experience across channels and touch points to reveal needs, pain-points, and business opportunities. Influence behavior changes to help achieve desired business outcomes
  • Set standards for Design processes and artifacts, including user journeys, heuristic evaluations, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing
  • Plan and facilitate brainstorming and design-thinking activities with multi-disciplinary teams and create artifacts to demonstrate divergent thinking
  • Create high and low fidelity prototypes - static or interactive - that have been tested with users and shared with stakeholders
  • Measure, improve and enable continuous delivery to production
  • Conduct usability testing, card sorting, click testing or other forms of testing to make sure ideas work for users
  • Review existing solutions to ensure they meet design standards and best practices and make recommendations for improvements
  • Set objectives and key results for product teams. Provide direction, feedback and approval on others' work
  • Embrace Agile environment and act as an advocate for customers, providing strategic leadership based in user-centered design, user research, customer analytics, and business goals
  • Apply standards from design systems and/or brand guidelines, and contribute to design systems
  • Travel to local campuses and to attend company meetings
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in B2B or B2C environments, implementing loyalty, personalization and/or e-commerce strategies
  • Any experience mentoring other user experience professionals
  • Any experience on large scale projects with demonstrated ability to work across teams, gather and incorporate feedback
  • Any previous experience defining, developing and/or documenting UX design and interaction requirements
  • Demonstrated track record of collaborating effectively with user experience designers and technology partners
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead projects from concept to delivery and ongoing improvement
  • Advanced skill with design tools, such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS
  • Strong understanding of analytics, target measurement, and online/offline channel engagement attribution models
