Strategic Business Development, PBM Sales - KPP - Remote

Position Summary

Investigate value propositions associated with current organizational assets and leverages them to drive increased profitability. The defined objectives are to gain market share and maximize profitability while being complementary to other business units within the enterprise. Partner with Kroger Prescription Plans (KPP) leadership to take advantage of the company's core competencies and to recognize when strategies under consideration do not align with those competencies and therefore represent undue risk. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with the KPP senior leadership team to execute the sales strategy, including identification of the customer segments on which KPP should focus, and potential sales channels with whom the company should work
  • Execute an aggressive annual sales plans, with consistent follow-up of prospects over a long sales cycle working in a somewhat new space
  • Employ a consultative sales approach to determine prospect's needs and priorities and highlight the ways in which KPP products and services will meet those needs
  • Develop a deep understanding of KPP Solutions' products and services to be able to describe them and their value effectively to knowledgeable C-level prospects including CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, and other Clinical Leaders
  • Remain current of PBM industry trends and competitive knowledge
  • Represent KPP in a professional manner and foster a positive reputation and image in the marketplace for KPP
  • Lead contracting process internally and externally
  • Maintain strong familiarity with PBM competition, particularly any new competitive issues and products/services
  • Maintain close contact with Client Services, Clinical Services & Operations, Implementation Manager and Product Development team to help smoothly facilitate the implementation process and management of accounts
  • Strengthen team performance by sharing information, supporting sales and marketing activities, and assisting management
  • Utilize and maintain approved database tools for contact management and coordination of sales activities; regularly report on sales and prospect activity to supervisor
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role(s) with a proven track record of successfully developing and organizing the placement and or sales of strategic key products and or initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional communication skills and must be comfortable giving presentations to all levels of a corporation from the executive team to hands-on employees in operation
  • Strong relationship management and social skills
  • Strong win-win negotiation skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a can do attitude
  • Highly trustworthy with strong integrity
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree in business administration or other related healthcare or business degree
  • Deep knowledge of all health care payers, health plans and Blue Cross plans
