Position Summary:

Develop, test, maintain, and document software components in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. Participates in the software technical design process and completes work plans for the design, development, implementation, and release. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Essential Job Functions:

  • Use standard tools, techniques, and programming languages to code and test applications and reports which meet defined specifications.
  • Analyze, design, and create database structures to support requirements while complying with team/department standards and direction.
  • Develop software applications given specified business requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance testing of applications and reports.
  • Elicit and document stakeholder requirements on small projects.
  • Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, daily standups, sprint planning sessions and retrospectives.
  • Prepare requests for change and represent to change control board.
  • Support and maintain applications utilizing required tools and technologies. Provide second level support for applications, including involvement with the support team, infrastructure team and vendors.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
  • Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy.
  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to interact well in a team environment
  • Effective problem solving and change management skills
  • Proficiency with relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, .NET framework, C#, VB .NET, ASP .NET, WPF, Winforms, MVVM

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an information technology related field
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git or similar version control system
  • Familiarity with TeamCity or similar continuous integration server
