High Performance Work System Technician Entry Level - Machine Operator

Position Summary

Perform required tasks and duties for the designated position, as determined by team composition and crewing needs. Must maintain timely progress through assigned operational training. Must flexibly perform a variety of roles in a team-based environment. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Provide active support to any team member when needed to maintain operations
  • Ask questions to clarify, obtain key information, and challenge the ideas of others
  • Actively participate in team meetings and discussions
  • Adapt own behavior and efforts in response to changing team requirements or circumstances

  • Read equipment-specific standard work before engaging machinery

  • Steadily pursue and master leadership and operational skill development as required to advance to Tech Level 1 performance within the established time frame
  • Make timely progress in completing the training and skill development required to master at least one designated rotational position for the core teams operational function
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn; Maintain timely arrival and attendance for scheduled shift
  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance
  • Highly self-motivated, with ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective problem-solving ability
  • Active listening skills
  • Effective oral/written communication skills
  • Positive, approachable demeanor
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and readily adapt to change
  • Basic reading (comprehension) and math skills (counting, addition and subtraction)
  • Basic mechanical reasoning skills
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Manufacturing experience in food/beverage
