Staff Pharmacist

Position Summary:

The purposes of this position include, but are not limited to, dispensing, compounding, consulting on prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care and /or providing clinical services according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements. Frequent independent judgments are essential. Must be able to perform the necessary tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet Customers, answer questions and offer professional advice and consultation.
  • Appropriately handle customer complaints.
  • Promote the sales plan and other sales initiatives as developed by the Division Pharmacy Department and/or Pharmacy Manager.
  • Perform all the duties required and expected of a registered pharmacist in the state of employment and responsible for following all legal and company requirements.
  • Able to effectively monitor inventory, rotate stock, and return outdated or overstock products.
  • Comply with all Corporate mandated Controlled Substance Operating Procedures.
  • Able to handle third party problems, rejections, and audits in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for scheduling all pharmacy staff members in a manner to help control or avoid unnecessary labor costs.
  • Maintain all pharmacy records required by state and federal laws and company policies.
  • Able to perform effective detailing visiting local physicians and other community targets.
  • Responsible for promoting, implementing, and participating in public health initiatives and disease state management services.
  • In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, directly supervise all pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • B.A./B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy and a registered pharmacist license
  • License must be in good standing
  • Minimum 1-2 years related retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to travel independently
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Ability and willingness to continue education as necessary
  • Participation in clinical programs following company sponsored training

Desired Previous Job Experience

  • Completion of a PGY-1 Residency
  • Relevant Pharmacy Board Certification(s)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in business management
